Prefill a field with a live value

Start a field with a value that's worked out fresh every time the form opens.

Prefill fills a field with a dynamic value — one that’s recomputed each time the form opens, so it’s current every time. Choose the source that fits the field:

  • Today’s date — the current date when the form opens.
  • Clipboard — whatever the person has copied.
  • Last submission — the value they entered here last time.

This is different from a Default value, which is a fixed value that stays the same until someone changes it. Use Default value when the starting point is always the same, and Prefill when it should reflect the moment the form opens.

When more than one value is available for a field, Air Fill fills it in this order: a value passed in through a deep link wins over prefill, and prefill wins over the Default value.

Prefill is a Pro feature (Dynamic prefill). If you set up prefill before, note that the older static prefill is now part of Default value, so prefill today always means a dynamic value.
